Jockeys

Jockeys are among the top athletes in the world. They are typically riding at 40 mph and most will suffer a serious injury during their careers. Rarely do they work beyond 35 years. They typically weigh from 108-118 pounds and to keep their weight down eat only 1200 calories per day. Some of them travel with their personal chefs. A jockey’s clothes are called “silks” and are usually the colors of the stable they represent. So, it is not unusual for jockeys to change silks for every race.

How do I buy Clubhouse seats through SpaTickets.com?

Do I need a ticket to get into the track?

Yes. Reserved Clubhouse seats include race day admission, so you do not need a separate general admission ticket for the same day — your Clubhouse seat ticket gets you into the track.

What is the difference between Clubhouse, Grandstand, and General Admission?

Clubhouse Seats: Reserved seats inside the clubhouse structure with track viewing and shelter.
Grandstand Seats: Also reserved, not as close to the finish line.
General Admission: Grants access to track grounds, picnic areas, and apron but do not include seats. SpaTickets focuses on Clubhouse reserved seating for the best views and comfort.

When do tickets go on sale for the season?

NYRA typically releases individual day tickets in the spring, usually starting in March, ahead of the summer race meet.

Can I choose exactly where my seats are?

Yes — SpaTickets shows sections, rows, and quantities when available.
Each seat listing includes the section, row, and price so you know what you’re buying before you check out.
Please contact us even if the seats and dates you need are not shown. We get a continuing supply of seats throughout the season.

Are tickets transferable or refundable?

Tickets purchased are official paper or PDF tickets and can be transferred at any time.
Tickets can also be transferred to you online.
Refunds are not available, but if you can no longer use your tickets, we will use our best efforts to resell them.

Can I get tickets if a date is sold out?

Absolutely. If seats are sold out, we usually have access to others.
Early booking is recommended, especially for weekend and major stakes dates like Travers.

Are there accessible seating options?

Yes. The race course and SpaTickets can help you find accessible seating in the Clubhouse or Grandstand.
Accessible seating policies follow ADA requirements, and companion seating can be arranged, subject to availability.

Is there parking included?

Clubhouse tickets do not automatically include parking.
NYRA offers a range of paid parking options trackside and at nearby lots. Details are available on the official race course site and vary by race day.

Do you sell tickets for special hospitality or dining areas?

In addition to clubhouse seats, the race course also offers elevated experiences like dining areas, owners boxes, picnic paddock tables, and more. SpaTickets can help you explore these options when available.

Are children admitted?

Children are welcome to attend races, but all ticket holders (including children) must have a valid ticket if they are occupying a reserved seat. For general admission, Saratoga usually does not charge for children under a certain age check specific rules on race day.
